KRYCELL SNOW POWDERS
The differences of our snow powders is shown in this video.
Its all about how much sparkle you want in your modelling. EXTRA gives you more, FINE gives you less. It is up to you. We suggest that for normal scale sparkle 1:35th and smaller you should use FINE We suggest for normal scale sparkle 1:35th and bigger use EXTRA. However, EXTRA is suitable for all scales if you want to see that sparkle more easily. None of these products are 'over the top' |

1/76th SCALE ORCHARD DIORAMA
1
It all starts off with an idea, some old fruit trees and then some scatter. We wanted to build a 1/76th scale orchard which really looked wintery and cold. We wanted to show how the effects could be built up from scratch.
We used tiny tree's. The width of the trunks are just 6-10mm.
We used materials like tobbaco and tea leaves for the floor scatter on the ground.
For the green moss we used dyed ground natural sponge.

It's so simple to get this great effect of light snow blown 'between' the scatter and 'ground-grasses'
We applied the snow powder lightly and then tapped the base so that the snow powder settles 'between' all of the green and brown scatter.
Then we 'fixed' the powder to create the look of light snow but between the ground-cover.
We simply sprayed a clear adhesive from above to make it all solid.
Simple and easy and 100% realistic.
Because our snow powder has a scale weight, it goes beteween the ground scatter and grasses.

Then...... we decided that we would have more snowfall!
Carefully we added more snow powder.
Then we carefully tapped the sides of the Diorama so that the light coating of fresh snow falls into the reccesses again.
Then we sprayed the adhesive from overhead to 'fix' the snow.

Then......we wanted to make yet more snow!
Again we applied a small amount of powder and then carefully allowed the hairspray adhesive to fall onto the Diorama.
This time, you can see where the trees have protected the ground from the falling snow.
Also, the adhesive has dripped from the branches and made holes through the snow on the ground.

The diorama could end up looking like this 1/35th masterpeice!
Krycell 'EXTRA' snow powder for scales 1:35 and larger
This nice 1/16th scale work is by Precision Panzer who produce professionaly built models for customers across the world. It is based on Michael Wittman's Tiger. Using Krycell Extra powder has worked well and there is a brilliant effect of fresh settled snow and snow that has been dropped onto the tank from branches above.
Also, it looks as if the crew have recently removed some of the snow and what is left is realistic. The larger particle size of Krycell Extra have worked well with the gluing method.
On this 1/24th scale Panther tank, the effect of a hard frost has worked well. The coverage is delicate and has not hidden the details underneath. Notice the effects of ice crystals.
