WHY USE KRYCELL SNOW POWDERS ?
STABILTY
Krycell snow powders will not yellow with age, or react with other materials. Krycell snow powders are NOT water soluble.
They are hydrophobic and repell water and moisture. They will not yellow, or discolour with age and they will not react with other materials.

Bicarbonate of Soda crystals are water soluble and when mixed with PVA ( which is a water based adhesive), you are introducing risk into your modelling. A process can be started whereby the snow effects you have created start to turn yellow and discolour.
There are some very good uses for Bicarbonate of soda as you can see, but modelling should not be one of them.
Also, Bicarbonate of soda is granular like salt and when it is examined closely it looks like white sand on your models.
PVA is not a very good adhesive for fixing, or sticking scale crystals anyway as it is too thick and hides the natural structure of Krycell snow powders.
APPEARANCE
Krycell snow powder is made from crystal shaped particles. These bond, or stick together like real snowflakes and build like real snow.
We say only one thing. Please be sure to use crystal clear adhesives, resins and glues if you want snow white snow.

Here are two cars at 1/76th scale and are just 12mm high and 50mm long.
The yellow car on the left is coated in a widely used snow effect scatter material made from chopped PVC. The scale of the particles are too large. Also The particles do not sit properly on the car surface and they are too large.
The red car on the right has a coating of Krycell Fine. The effect looks like fresh snowfall. The particle size is correct and accurate and the paintwork can be seen through it. It is hard to believe how accurate this snow effect is

Once again you can see the effects of using snow materials that are too large and that do not sit right. The flakes on the clothes are far too big and un-natural looking.
SCALE
Krycell snow powders are suitable for a wide range of scales and sizes.1:220th up to 1:4th. All you have to do is to alter the method you use to stick the snow powder. This will effect its scale appearence.
